Keep your Mac free of viruses by conducting regular scans by trusted anti-virus protection. This article will walk you through the easy steps to download and use the free version of Malwarebytes. If you are on a CWU tagged device, do NOT install Malwarebytes. Please run the Windows Security scan.
How to Download Malwarebytes
Step One: Malwarebytes can be downloaded for free by going to the following site and select “Free Download”:

Step Two: The webpage will automatically download the software on your computer. Click “Continue”
Step Three: Read the Malwarebytes Software License Agreement, then click “Continue”
Step Four: Confirm that you have read and understood the Software License Agreement, click “Agree”
Step Five: Click “Install”
Step Six: Once install is selected, enter administrator credentials to continue
Step Seven: After Malwarebytes has finished installing, click “Close” to exit setup
Step Eight: Malwarebytes will ask where you are installing Malwarebytes, “Personal Computer” or “Work Computer”, select "Personal Computer". If you are on a CWU tagged device, we recommend calling the Service Desk prior to installing the software at 509-963-2001.
Step Nine: Once Malwarebytes has been downloaded, you can select “Scan”
Step Ten: Quarantine any threats you may find but your scans should come up clean. Send these results to your supervisor weekly.
