Where are the Zoom Recordings I made in Canvas?

Due to license limitations, Zoom Recordings are no longer stored in the Zoom Cloud Recordings area. The are automaticallly posted to the Panopto Recordings area in Canvas. This is only applicable to recordings made by faculty in Canvas.

When faculty create and record a Zoom meeting inside a Canvas course, that recording will appear in that courses Panopto Recordings folder. Those video recordings inside that folder are only visible and available to the faculty and students enrolled in that course. Faculty can share those videos as links or Canvas embeds, edit the recordings, add embedded quizzes, see analytics of student views and more.

If faculty create and record a Zoom meeting outside of a course (in a personal meeting room), that recording will appear in a subfolder titled “My Meetings” inside each person’s personal folder in Panopto. Those video recordings are only visible and available to the faculty who created the meeting. If they choose, faculty can move these recordings to a course folder for student access through the Panopto Recordings tab in their Canvas course, and share those videos as links or Canvas embeds for students to watch.

Faculty who need assistance, email chad.schone@cwu.edu

Staff that use Zoom outside of Canvas, should contact the CWU Service Desk for assistance.
