Generating a Google Analytics Report for Your Website

Summary

This article describes the standard Google Analytics reporting option provided by Web Services through a Google Looker Studio dashboard. The dashboard allows users to view traffic and performance metrics for any CWU website by entering a unique portion of the site’s URL into the “Page path contains” filter, which returns data for all related pages. It also explains how results are paginated, with top-performing URLs displayed across multiple pages of the report for easier review

Summary

To help you track and improve traffic to your website, Web Services has created a analytics dashboard using Google Looker Studio.

The dashboard lets you view metrics for any CWU site by entering a unique part of its URL.

Example:
HR’s homepage URL is: https://www.cwu.edu/about/offices/human-resources/index.php

To see analytics for HR’s site, find the part of the URL that is unique to that site — in this case, human-resources — and enter it in the “Page path contains” field (without quotes). This will include all pages that share that unique segment.

Tips:

  • Page 1 shows the first 20 top-performing URLs.
  • Page 3 lists the next 20 URLs. You can scroll through the list using the scroll bar on the right.
