Outlook Web App - Setting Rules on a Shared Exchange Mailbox
Quick Instructions
Step One: Sign-In to OWA using your email credentials. (outlook.office365.com)
Step Two: Make sure you're in the Outlook tab. In the upper right corner, click your name or photo and select Open another mailbox.
Step Three: Type the shared mailbox in the pop-up window. This opens OWA of the shared mailbox in a new window.
Step Four: In OWA of the shared mailbox, in the upper right corner, click the Settings gear icon and select Options in the drop down list. This will open the OWA settings of the shared mailbox.
Step Five: Click Organize Email, make sure inbox rules is highlighted, click the plus sign (+) and select your rule type.
In the new rule window give your rule a name, select what messages to apply rule to, then what to do.
Step by Step Instructions
Step One: Sign-In to OWA using your email credentials. (outlook.office365.com) Using Snork as the username for this example.
Step Two: Make sure you're in the Outlook tab. In the upper right corner, click your name or photo and select Open another mailbox.
Step Three: Type the shared mailbox in the pop-up window. This opens OWA of the shared mailbox in a new window. In this example, ChickenYard is the Shared Exchange Mailbox (SEM).
Step Four: In OWA of the shared mailbox, in the upper right corner, click the Settings gear icon and select Options in the drop down list. This will open the OWA settings of the shared mailbox.
Step Five: Click Organize Email, make sure inbox rules is highlighted, click the plus sign (+) and select your rule type. This example uses Move messages from someone to folder.
Step Six: In the new rule window give your rule a name, select what messages to apply rule to, then what to do.
Step Seven: The finished rule will look something like this. Save your rule.
Step Eight: Your rule should work right away.
