If your computer has a security chip, it may have been encrypted and the BitLocker security recovery key registered to your profile in Microsoft when you signed in to O365, Edge, Teams or other Microsoft products with your CWU credentials on a personal device. This is a built-in feature from Microsoft and not implemented by CWU.
If your device has been encrypted, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you make a copy of this encryption key as soon as possible. If you remove your personal device from CWU management before backing up your recovery key, you could lose access to your local data. The only way to use your computer again will be by doing a full Windows reset and losing all local data.
Sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/devices with your CWU account and choose Devices and select your personal device from the list. Select `"View Bitlocker Keys`". From there you will see if a BitLocker key has been registered. If it has, select "Show recovery key". Copy and paste the recovery key into a document and save it to an external drive or cloud storage. In addition, print it and store it somewhere safe. DO NOT store the copy on the computer that is encrypted.
