How to Make a New Constituent Record

 

In RE, click on “New Individual”.

 

Bio 1 tab:  Enter last name, first name, middle name or initial (no period per Kim on 9/20/05), titles (choose one), suffixes (choose one if appropriate), gender (choose one), marital status (choose one).

Preferred Address:  Click on More.  Address lines (fill it in), zip: click on binoculars.  Type in city, click on Find Now.  Choose one, open. It will fill in city and state.

Phone:  Home on first line.  Add all numbers you know of, such as business, email, website, etc.).

Address type:  Home

Info source:  Choose appropriate one

County:  Choose appropriate one if you know it

Region:  Choose appropriate one

Valid date from:  enter date you are creating this new constituent.

Save and Close.

Bio 2 tab:  Constituent code (choose appropriate one), tab (it’ll automatically fill in Description).

Addressees/Salutations tab:  Fill in type:  Primary addressee is constituent name first (Valerie and Jack Carpenter), primary salutation. donor listing (wife’s name first—Valerie and Jack Carpenter).

Save and Close.  Then you’ll have to go back into the record to enter spouse info, other relationships, etc.

So, go back into record.  Bio 1:  Click on Spouse box.  General 1 tab:  Fill in last name, first name, middle name or initial (with a period), titles (choose one), suffixes (choose one if appropriate), relationship=husband or wife, reciprocal=husband or wife.  General 2 tab: Gender (choose appropriate one).

Save and Close.

Go back into Addressees/Salutations tab and correct Primary addressee and salutation and donor listing.
