Remoting into PC Desktop from iPhone, iPad or Android Device

Once you are connected to the VPN service on your iPhone, iPad or Andriod device, you can remote in to a tagged CWU device. For instructions on connecting to the CWU Network remotely (VPN) follow this article: Accessing VPN on an iPhone or iPad

iOS Compatibility: 13.0 or later 

Android Compatibilty: 6.0 or later

IOS Instruction


Step One: Access the App Store and search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop". 


Step Two: The first time you open the app this screen will appear, but once you add a connection the device will remember it and list it on the screen in a box. To add the connection to a CWU Tagged Computer, press the plus sign in the top right corner. 


Step Three: Press on "Desktop".


Step Four: Under the PC Name field you will type in "PC#####.d.cwu.edu" with the number signs being replaced by the tag number from the device you wish to access. Leave the second field (user account) as is, this will allow you enter your credentials each time. 


Step Five: Once added the device will show up on the main page of the app. 


 Step Six: Pressing on the remembered device will switch to this screen, and prompt you to enter your credentials. 

 

Android Instructions 

Step One: Access the Google Play Store and search for "Microsoft Remote Desktop".
