Disabling Browser Autofill (Outlook Troubleshooting)

This guide helps students who can access MyCWU but are unable to log in to their CWU Outlook email. It addresses common login issues caused by browser autofill or incorrect login formats.

Please note: Your CWU email address (FirstName.LastName@cwu.edu) is not the same as your Outlook login. Use the same user name and password that you use to log into MyCWU.

Use: username@cwu.edu
Do not use: FirstName.LastName.cwu.edu

Disabling Safari Autofill

 

  1. Open Safari and, in the top left corner, click Safari > Settings.

Click Safari, then click on settings.

 

  1. Click the Autofill tab and uncheck User names and passwords to prevent Safari from saving new credentials.

Select the Autofill tab and uncheck User name and Passwords.

 

  1. Close the settings window to finish.

 

 

Disabling Chrome Autofill

 

  1. Go to: chrome://settings

Enter URL in Chrome's address bar.

 

  1. From the left side, select Autofill and passwords, then click Google Password Manager.

Click Autofill and passwords, then Google Password Manager.

 

  1. On the left-hand side, click Settings, then toggle off:

 

  • Offer to save passwords and passkeys

  • Sign in automatically

Click Settings and toggle off options.

 

 

Disabling Edge Autofill

 

  1. Go to: edge://settings/

Enter URL in Edge's address bar.

 

  1. On left-hand side, click Profiles, then click Passwords.

Click on Profiles, then click Passwords.

 

  1. Click Settings.

Click on Settings.

 

  1. Toggle off options:

 

  • Offer to save passwords

  • View and autofill passwords and passkeys
