Connecting to CWU-Wildcats WiFi- Android Devices

**Note** Some Google Pixel and Motorola phones are not accepting our CWU Wildcats self-signed wireless certificate in Android version 11 and 12. Some Android version 13 phones may have the option to "Trust on first use" which allows connectivity. These devices will not be able to connect to our CWU Wildcats network at this moment. Information Services is working diligently to find a solution to this problem.

This article will show you how to connect to the CWU Wildcats on most Android OS smartphones.

Step One: Open the Menu of your Phone, and go to the Settings area.

Step Two: Once in Settings, touch the Network and Internet button, then select the Wireless Options.

Step Three: Select CWU-Wildcats WiFi.

Step Four: Adjust your settings as needed, so that the following options are:

EAP Method: PEAP

Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2

CA Certificate: Do not validate or Trust on First Use

**Note** Android 13 phones will need to have this option set to "Trust on First Use"

Domain: cwu.edu

Identity: Will be your MyCWU username, no @cwu.edu required

Anonymous Identity: You may leave the Anonymous Identity blank

Password: The password will just be your standard password, the same you use for MyCWU.

Android 11 & 12 Users: For those unable to proceed with the steps above, please visit our CWU Self Configuring Tool and follow the on-screen instructions.

Android 11, 12, and 13 Users: Instructions for using the CWU Self Configuring Tool

You should now stay connected as long as you are within range of the WiFi network.
