Office 365 Upgrade for CWU-Tagged Windows Computers

Upgrade to Microsoft (Office) 365!

CWU rolled out Office 365 in 2019, making it available to all CWU owned computers running Windows 10.  Prior to Office 365, all CWU owned Windows 10 devices were deployed with Office 2016. There are still a significant number of Windows 10 computers running Office 2016 and we strongly recommend CWU customers upgrade to Office 365. Upgrading to the current version will ensure your system is equipped with the most current Microsoft patches and fixes for Office products.  Please see the steps below with instructions for upgrading.

  1.  Navigate to the Windows start button (red arrow) and start typing Software Center.  You will see the Software Center App displayed as an available option.  Please select the Software Center App, (left click on the icon).

  1. Make sure the Applications option is selected (left arrow), if you see the Install Office 365 application listed (right arrow), then you are still running Office 2016.  Please proceed by selecting the Install Office 365 and Project and Visio option.

  1. Select the Install button.  The installation of Office 365 will begin by removing Office 2016 and installing Office 365.

  1. Installation typically takes 15 minutes or less.

  1. You will see the “Installing Office” pop-up message during installation.

  1. This message will be displayed when the installation is complete.  Click the Windows 10 Start button (Step #1), to view your new apps.
