Updating a Staff or Faculty Member’s Web Directory Profile Page

Summary

CWU’s web directory has been centralized to improve consistency and accuracy. Core information such as name, title, phone number, email address, and office location is now managed directly through HR’s system. This ensures that new faculty and staff profiles are automatically created, and profiles are removed when individuals leave the university.

Effective Monday, February 10, 2025, website content editors (contributors and approvers) will be able to update two areas of directory profiles:

  • Bio section
  • Portrait

 

Steps 1

Navigate to the centralized “directory” location within the “about” folder on CWU’s website.

 

Steps 2

Inside the directory, open the appropriate department folder (e.g., about > directory > accounting-office).

If a profile does not exist, please contact Web Services. Profiles cannot be manually created or deleted..


Steps 3

  1. Locate the profile and click Edit, just as you would for any other page.
  2. Update the bio and/or portrait section.

For changes to HR-managed content (name, title, email, or office location), please coordinate with your manager and submit the request to Lorraine Chavez (HR).

 

FYI - Changes to telephone should be directed to Telecom.

Portrait Guidelines

Faculty and staff only: Portraits should include the individual only. Professional portraits may be arranged through the university photographer, David Dick (University Relations). 

Size requirements: Crop portraits to 500px x 500px and keep file size under 500KB. University Relations can assist with resizing if needed.

File placement: Upload portraits to the _images folder within the relevant department folder in the directory.


HR-Managed Updates

The following details are managed by HR and cannot be updated in Cascade:

  • Name
  • Title (primary title will always display first)
  • Phone number – (This work is done by Telecom and should be directed to Telecom)
  • Email address
  • Office location

For preferred names, users can update their settings directly in MyCWU.
