Summary
A common support request we receive involves the error message:
“An error occurred during creation: You do not have write permission to the destination container.”
This message appears when you attempt to save a Campus Notice in a folder that is not designated for that content. Campus Notices must be saved in a folder that corresponds to the year and month in which the notice will be published.
Below are steps to help you identify and correct the issue.
How to Identify the Issue
- Review the location where you are attempting to save the Campus Notice.
- Above the error message, locate the Placement Folder field and note the path shown.

- The folder path must end with a two-digit number (01–12) that corresponds to the month in which the notice will be published.
- For example, if the Campus Notice is scheduled for publication in February 2026, the path should read:
CWU: /about/media-resources/news/campus-notices/2026/02 (as shown in the screenshot below).

- If the path ends with only the year (for example, /2026), the notice is being saved in the wrong location.
How to Correct the Placement Folder: Step 1
- Return to the edit screen for the Campus Notice.
- Click on the Placement Folder field.

- This will open the Choose a Folder panel on the right.
- Click Browse to select a specific folder.

- In the folder tree, hover over the year folder, and click on the arrow labled Browse on the right to browse the folder's contents.

- Select the appropriate folder that corresponds to the month when the Campus Notice is to be published, and click the Choose button in the upper-right corner.

- Confirm that the Placement Folder field now reflects the correct month folder.

How to Correct the Placement Folder: Step 7
- Try saving the Campus Notice again.
If you continue to encounter issues saving the Campus Notice, the issue may lie elsewhere and you should contact the Web Services team.
