Registering your Gaming Console on Resnet (Wired Ethernet Connection)

Please note: To register for ResNet, you must be in a residence hall or campus apartment and have the following:

  • Access to a device with a web browser
  • The device you want to register (this may be the same one with the web browser)
  • Your Microsoft login (used for Canvas, MyCWU, Office, etc.)

Register Gaming Console on ResNet

 

  1. Open a web browser on a device with Internet access. Go to: http://hostreg.resnet.cwu.edu

 

Please note: This site is only accessible from Residence Halls on the main CWU Campus.

 

  1. You may see a security warning. Select the option to continue to the site.

 

  1. Log in using your credentials (used for Canvas, MyCWU, etc.).

If you haven't set up your password, contact the Service Desk at (509) 963-2001 or visit the Samuelson lobby.

 

  1. If you're registering a device for the first time, you'll be asked to take a quiz on the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). It's multiple choice and you can retake it until you pass.

 

  1. Answer all 20 questions, click Submit Quiz, and then select Go to HostReg if you pass.

 

  1. Click the Add New Device button in the upper right corner of the HostReg page.

  1. On the Add New Device page, follow these prompts:

 

  1. Choose a device category: Select “Any device that will connect with a physical cable.”
  2. Enter the MAC address:
    • To find it, visit: MAC Address Help
    • Enter the MAC address in the box. It will show a green border if valid.
    • Need help? Call the Service Desk at (509) 963-2001 or visit the Samuelson lobby.
  3. Select the device type: Use the dropdown menu to choose the best match.
  4. Review the AUP: Check the box confirming you agree to its terms.
  5. Click “Add Device.”

 

  1. Wait 15 minutes and fully restart your device.
