SharePoint is a file sharing and collaboration platform hosted on Office 365.
Currently, students do not have access to SharePoint, although they have access to other O365 services that are built on the SharePoint platform (e.g. OneDrive, Groups).
Staff and Faculty can build a SharePoint site, either a Team site or Communication site. A Communication site is generally a site more suited to simulate an intranet site. Navigation for a Communication site is at the top and can be turned into a department hub site. A team site can be later tied to a Microsoft team. Navigation is on the left hand side. It is the same site that is already created for every Microsoft Team. If you have any questions or need help please submit a ticket to SharePoint site help.
