How to find your IP address (Mac OS)

Step One: Open the Apple menu, then click on 'System Preferences...'

 

 


Step Two: In the System Preferences window, click the 'Network' icon

 


Step Three: The Network window is divided into left and right panels.  The left panel contains all of your possible connections, while the right panel shows the details for the currently selected connection.

  • Depending on how you are connecting (Wired or WiFi), select either 'Ethernet' or 'Wi-Fi' in the left panel.
  • The right panel shows a field labeled 'IP Address: '; the number to the right of this label is your IP address.
