To attach files to messages composed with Mac Mail as attachments, rather than inline objects, you can run the following command.
At a terminal prompt, type and enter this:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
After executing the above command, files that are specifically "attached" will be sent as attachments. Files dragged and dropped onto the new message compose window, will be sent "inline".
