Symptom: After a power outage, a Mac computer (usually an iMac) won't power on; pushing the power button has no effect.
Solution: Reset the SMC (System management Controller)
Step One: Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to ensure the computer is completely powered down.
Step Two: Unplug the power cord.
Step Three: Wait fifteen seconds.
Step Four: Attach the power cord.
Step Five: Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
