Summary
This article allows you to create a Outlook contact group from a list of contacts in Excel spreadsheet.
Outlook Classic Instructions
Save Your Contact Information from Excel
Step One: In your workbook, click the worksheet with the contact information you want to import.
To properly save contacts, make sure:
* Row One has headers (example):
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
* Each contact is on it's own row
Step Two:
- Click File
- Select Export
- Select Download as CVS UTF-8

Import Contacts in Outlook Classic
Step One: Go to File

Step Two:
- Select Open & Export
- Click Import/Export

Step Three:
- Make sure Import from another program or file is selected
- Click Next

Step Four:
- Make sure Comma Separated Values is selected
- Click Next

Step Five: Select Browse.

Step Six: Find and select your CSV file.

Step Seven:
- Choose how to handle duplicates in the selection menu
- Click Next

Step Eight:
- Select Contacts as destination
- Click Next

Step Nine: Select Finish.

Create Contact Group in Outlook Classic
Step One: Select People in the side bar.

Step Two:
- Select New Contact
- Select Contact Group

Step Three: Name your group.

Step Four:
- Click Add Members
- Select From Outlook Contacts

Step Five: Select Contacts under your email in the menu.

Step Six: Select members you want within the group (Ctrl + A selects all).
- Click Members
- Click OK

Step Seven: Click Save & Close.

New Outlook Instructions
Save Your Contact Information from Excel

Import Contacts in New Outlook
Step One: Select People in sidebar.

Step Two: Select Import Contacts at the bottom of "Your Contacts" menu.

Step Three: Select Browse.

Step Four:
- Locate and select CSV file
- Select Open

Step Five: Select Import.

Step Six: Once successful message appears, click Close.

Create Contact Group in New Outlook
Step One: Select People in sidebar.

Step Two: Select Go to Groups.

Step Three: Select New Group.

Step Four:
- Name your group
- Add a description
- Select Privacy Settings
- Select Create once completed

Step Five: Once created, select on the group you have created.

Step Six: On the informational page of the group, click on Members.

Step Seven: Select Add Members.

Step Eight: Select members from the Excel contacts list.

Step Nine: Click Add.
