Description/What is it?
Information Services has been in the process of converting CWU user accounts from full "Administrator" access on CWU Windows 10 managed computers, to a "Standard" user. This change will provide an extra layer of security, assist with cyber-insurance compliance, and improve computer reliability.
We understand this might be an inconvenience, but we have provisions in place to assist if you encounter issues, i.e., installing software applications/updates or adding a printer. The intent is not to restrict your ability to perform your job, it is to protect you and the University from the increasing number of cybersecurity threats.
If you would like to temporarily/permanently request administrative rights on your CWU Windows 10 or Mac OS managed computer, please select the Request Service option on the right and fill in the required fields.
Who can use it?
This service is specific only for CWU Windows 10 and Mac OS managed computers and can only be requested by Faculty/Staff.
How to request this service?
This service is requested through the Computer Support Services. Requests can be made by clicking the Request button to the right.
