Creating Your New CWU Account

Please note: These steps apply to new CWU students only.

 

 

Summary

 

This guide walks newly admitted CWU students through creating their MyCWU account for the first time. It is intended only for students who have never signed in before.

 

 

Creating a CWU Account

 

  1. Visit the Wildcat Password Site:
    https://wildcatpassword.cwu.edu
  • Click on Create New CWU Account on the homepage.

CWU Account Management options: Create New CWU Account, Change your Password via Microsoft Site, and Username Recovery.

Click Create New CWU Account to get started.

 

  1. Enter your Username, CWU ID Number, and Date of Birth as requested.

 

  • Check your welcome letter sent to your mailing address. It includes your CWU ID and username.
  • You also received an email titled Information regarding your MyCWU account. If you can't find it, check your spam folder.
  • If you're unable to locate your info, contact the CWU Registrar’s Office at (509) 963-3001, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. PST.

 

International Students: Please note the U.S. date format is Month/Day/Year. Double-check before submitting.

 

Create New CWU Account form requesting Username, CWU ID Number (8 digits), and Date of Birth in MM/DD/YYYY format, with a Verify Account button.

Enter your Username, CWU ID Number, and Date of Birth and click Verify Account.

 

  1. Click Verify Account to continue and follow the prompts to set your password.
     
  2. Once your password is set, go to MyCWU.edu to log in.
  • Use your CWU email address (e.g. username@cwu.edu) and the new password you created.

Please note: It may take up to 15 minutes for new account access to fully activate. If you receive a permission error, wait and try again.

 

 

Troubleshooting

 

If you click Create New CWU Account but already have an account, you may see the following error message:
 

Error message stating the CWU account has already been provisioned, with instructions to contact the Service Desk for assistance.

Error message pop-up if your CWU account already exists.

 

Steps to Reset Password

 

  1. Click OK on the error popup.
     
  2. Click Restart to return to the main screen.
     
  3. Choose Change your password via Microsoft site.
     
  4. Follow the steps to reset your CWU password.
     
  5. If needed, call the Service Desk at (509) 963-2001 or see:
